27. Port Royal Sound Maritime Center

Located on the Chechessee River, the Maritime Center has exhibits that appeal to all ages, from a life-sized Megalodon jaw to a 3,000-gallon aquarium featuring local marine life.   The Maritime Center features work from local artists as well as photos and artifacts that help tell the story of how the Sound has influenced our rich history and culture.  The Maritime Center offers programs and events for the whole family. The Maritime Center is located between Beaufort and Bluffton at 310 Okatie Highway (US 170). It is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
