Explore the long and rich legacy of the United States Marine Corps and the exciting history of Port Royal. The Parris Island Museum features thousands of artifacts, images, and other materials that illustrate the history of Port Royal and Parris Island, from early Native American inhabitants of Port Royal to the modern Marines.

The Beaufort area is honored to host three military institutions and the following establishments are proud to offer discounts to our military men and women:

Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, home of the Marine Corps' Atlantic Coast fixed-wing, fighter-attack aircraft assets, is located in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Parris Island is one of the most visited military facilities in the world, hosting more than 120,000 guests each year. Visitors to the graduation ceremonies at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island can find lodging, dining, tours and attractions on base and in nearby Beaufort, Port Royal, and Bluffton.

Naval Hospital, Beaufort meets the medical needs of the area’s Marines and Sailors, their families, and the many military retirees who call the Lowcountry home.

Military Family Day & Military Graduation Day Family Day takes place on Thursday, and gives new Marines on-base liberty -- a chance to see their family and friends for the first time since their arrival on Parris Island. Graduation is conducted Friday with a formal ceremony and parade, attended by family and friends.
