Governor McMaster ordered the closure of all non-essential businesses in SC through 4/30. Receive COVID-19 and Beaufort area updates here. WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU BACK TO BEAUFORT, PORT ROYAL AND THE SEA ISLANDS SOON!

Why not make your 4th of July Holiday plans a little greener while celebrating red, white and blue.

Here are some simple tips on how you can reduce the waste at your holiday cookout:

  • Providing clearly marked recycling containers to encourage your guests to recycle.
  • Use long-lasting banners, flags, tablecloths instead of disposable types
  • Compost leftovers or send guests home with extra goodies in reusable plasticware
  • Consider reusable tableware or buy recycled-content paper plates

(paper plates contaminated with food are compostable, not recyclable)

Contact Beaufort County Solid Waste and Recycling if you have any questions about recycling or disposal at (843)255 2734.
