May 2013, Beaufort, S.C. – The Beaufort Water Festival, an annual celebration of Southern summer traditions, returns to Beaufort’s Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park for its 58th year from Friday, July 19, to Sunday, July 28.  The annual festival draws visitors from across the country and last year’s water festival attracted thousands of attendees.

On Friday, July 19, the festival kicks off with opening ceremonies featuring the Parris Island Marine Band and a fireworks show at dusk by Southeastern Pyrotechnics. The opening weekend is filled with fishing, Dragon Boat racing and athletic tournaments. Saturday’s Concert in the Park and Sunday’s Teen Dance conclude the opening weekend. Weekday themes include:

  • Motown Monday
  • Tropical Tuesday
  • Talent Show Wednesday
  • Lowcountry Supper Thursday
  • River Dance Friday

The final weekend of the festival includes iconic Water Festival events: the Grand Parade, the Commodore’s Ball, and the Blessing of the Fleet and Parade of Boats. For a schedule of events or to register for events, visit https://bftwaterfestival.com/festival-schedule.

The Festival Arts & Crafts Market at the Waterfront Park will be open daily for attendees to peruse local arts and crafts at their leisure.
