The story takes place in France during World War II, where a stranded American pilot hangs helplessly from his parachute which has been tangled in a massive tree. He is soon discovered by a group of orphaned children who have been forced into primitive and feral means in order to survive the war for themselves. Separately, the pilot and the children fought for different causes in the same war. Now together, they will forge a connection that transcends language - and their cause will become one. 15min.

Southern Lens is a weekly series dedicated to bringing ETV viewers the voices and culture of the South through the medium of independent films.

The ETV Southern Lens Award was awarded to the best Southern film at the festival. To be eligible for broadcast on the series, the film must be produced and/or directed by a Southern filmmaker, or be about a Southern subject. It must be appropriate for a public television audience but can be any genre or length. If it contains language prohibited by F.C.C. regulations, filmmaker must be willing to permit us to make minor edits.
