Bill Cox has been hired to lead the Lowcountry Regional Education Center, which includes Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties and is one of 12 centers being set up across South Carolina as part of Personal Pathways to Success.

Terri Stokes of Bay Street Jewelers has been appointed chairman of the South Carolina Jeweler’s Association. Mark Stokes has been appointed chairman of the Charities Invitational Tournament at Fripp Island.

Starving Artist Café opened May 8 at 2001 Boundary Street in Beaufort.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers recently submitted plans for the first “green” shopping center in Beaufort. Tanger proposed a “green” plan for the redevelopment of its Tanger Hilton Head Outlet Center 1 on Hwy 21 in Bluffton.

Advanced Document Shredding is teaming up with Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Carolina on June 14 to help grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions through the donation of document shredding in exchange for a donation to the foundation. Kitchen Design Center of Beaufort was featured in the May/June issue of Signature Kitchen & Baths magazine.

Coastal Carolina Hospital, Jasper County's only acute care medical center, is now receiving blood products from the American Red Cross.

Brewer’s Brewing Company has been nominated for the 2008 American Institute of Architects New York State Design Awards. The Nomination was based on Brewer’s sleek design, incorporation of Green building concepts, and uniqueness of the project.
