The Red Door Thrift Store, which benefits Friends of Caroline Hospice, will have a grand opening at its new location from 12-2 p.m. on April 29 at 1225 Ribaut Rd.

The Technical College of the Lowcountry will offer a digital home technology integration certificate through a 19-hour certificate program. Courses begin May 27. Call 525-8296.

College scholarships have been established by the state Republican Women’s Caucus in honor of state senator Catherine Ceips and state representative Shannon Erickson of Beaufort for their community service.

Dick Stewart, of 303 Associates, was recently honored by the S.C. Department of Commerce as a “Homegrown Champion”.

Peggy McClenegan, advertising account executive for Beaufort Today, was named to the 2008 President’s Club of the Morris Publishing Group LLC for excellence in sales.

The Historic Beaufort Foundation is recruiting volunteers for a multitude of functions. Call 379-3331 for information.

Dr. Betty Garren, a University of South Carolina Beaufort professor and director of the university’s Master of Arts in Teaching program, has been crowned Ms. South Carolina Senior 2008. She will represent our state in Atlantic City in October.

More than 100 volunteers participated in the annual Earth Day beach clean up at Hunting Island State Park on April 19.

Alice Beckish has been promoted to broker in charge at Oldfield.

Jeff Spencer has been named head golf professional at Callawassie Island.
