Beaufort International Film Festival

48. Beaufort International Film Festival

Beaufort’s Film Festival is an annual event that celebrates both the past and the future of filmmaking in Beaufort and the surrounding Sea Islands. 2016 marks the 10th year of the festival and we look forward to many more. For five days, international and local short films, feature films, animation, filmmakers surprises, educational forums, guest speakers, parties, and the quiet charm of historic Beaufort are all on display. The idea behind the festival is to recognize aspiring filmmakers from every genre and showcase the extremely film-friendly region of Beaufort. For the past 25 years, Beaufort has served as the backdrop for more than 20 major motion pictures, to include Forrest Gump, The Big Chill, The Prince of Tides and many more. This festival highlights Beaufort’s sweeping marsh vistas, antebellum homes, and quiet charm of the old south and aims to inspire and attract a new generation of filmmakers.
